Quick fixes for the problems players run into most.
Most problems come down to a browser setting, a slow device or a lost connection. Start with the matching question below. If something still looks broken, a reload fixes most one-off glitches, and your online save is safe on the server while you do it.
Before you start
The game needs a browser with WebGL 2 turned on, which covers current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. School and work computers sometimes switch hardware acceleration off; if the game won't start at all, try the Try low graphics button on the start screen.
Settings worth knowing
Open the menu and choose Settings to change master, footstep and effect volumes, the camera distance, how the mouse turns the camera (Shift Lock or Camera toggle), text size and graphics quality. Reduced motion calms speed lines and screen shake. Touch players can make the controls bigger and move the JUMP button to the left. Keyboard players can remap run and jump keys.
Still stuck?
Read how to play for every control and how saving works, or check the stage guide if a particular room is the problem.
Questions
Why is there no sound?
Browsers keep a page silent until you press something, so press Play or a sound preview first. Then check the mute button beside the menu, the volume sliders in Settings and your device's own volume and output.
The game is choppy or laggy. What can I change?
Leave Graphics on Auto, which lowers the drawing resolution when frames run slow, or pick Low in Settings. Closing other heavy tabs helps, and so does turning on hardware acceleration in your browser's settings.
How is my progress saved?
While you play online, the server saves your Speed, trophies, Gems, rebirths and items. A private cookie in your browser links you back to that save, so there is no email account to remember.
How do I move my save to another browser or device?
Open Settings and export a recovery file, then import it in the other browser. Keep that file private: anyone who has it can restore your player. Exporting again replaces the previous file.
What happens when I fall?
You go back to base with your Speed and banked trophies, and a Revive card offers a free return to the start of the stage you were on, with your run intact. Tap it or press R. Retry checkpoint in the menu restarts the current stage if you get stuck somewhere.
My connection dropped. Did I lose progress?
The game keeps running locally. When you reconnect, the server can restore a limited amount of Speed earned in up to ten minutes of active play; trophies and unlocks earned offline are not added to your online player.
What does the Graphics paused message mean?
Your browser lost the game's graphics for a moment. The game holds your run and resumes by itself when the picture comes back. If the message stays, choose Reload game.
How do I get the newest version of the game?
Reload the page. An open game also checks for new versions by itself: when you come back after a few minutes away, or stand still at base, it reloads before you play on, and otherwise a New version · Reload button appears at the top. Your progress is saved first, and you continue from your latest checkpoint.
What is local practice?
If the game server can't be reached, you can still play in local practice. It keeps a separate save in this browser and never overwrites your online progress.
