Speed, trophies & rebirth

Every step counts

Speed is experience. Each grounded step on a key adds Speed: your step upgrade (+1 to start) times your rebirth multiplier, then any Shop Speed tier, trail or aura bonus and running boost. Standing still earns nothing unless you are on an unlocked treadmill.

Speed fills your Level bar at the bottom of the screen. Level 2 takes 100 Speed and every later level costs 15% more than the one before, so the first levels arrive every few seconds. Each level makes you run faster: 4.32 metres per second at Level 1, 0.72 more with every level, up to World 1's cap of 90 m/s at Level 120. Inside each stage room, movement is also capped a little above what the next stage recommends, so its corners and jumps stay playable when you come back much faster. Your Speed and Level keep growing past any cap.

Step upgrades on the number keys

The giant keyboard at base has a row of number keys, and each one raises the Speed every step earns, for good. When your banked trophies reach a key's number it glows green; step on it to claim it.

Trophies grow every stage

Each cleared stage has a trophy pad at its safe stop: 1 for Stage 1, 3 for Stage 2, 10 for Stage 3, and so on up to 150,000 for Stage 15. Step on a pad to bank its trophies and go back to base, or run on for a bigger one; each stage in the run also pays 10 Gems. Unbanked trophies don't unlock anything yet, and nothing here costs money.

Step onto a belt to train: you run in place, even while holding forward. A belt pays its steps a second at your current gain, so step upgrades, rebirths and boosts all count. The on-belt hint shows the actual rate, and Base upgrades previews a locked belt's rate. Moving, jumping or opening the menu pauses training.

Every stage is open. The sign over each doorway shows the Level its long jumps are built for. With a lower Level you can still try, but the longest jumps fall short; one level below is still enough if you jump from the very edge.

Rebirth is your choice

At Level 15 you can rebirth at base. Your Speed goes back to zero and you start again at Level 1, keeping your trophies, step upgrades, Gems, wardrobe and cleared stages. In return your Speed multiplier grows for good: ×1.5 after the first rebirth, ×2 after the second, ×3 after the third, and faster after that. Each rebirth needs ten more levels than the one before, and the levels come back quickly afterwards because every step earns more.

After the twelfth, every rebirth needs ten more levels and multiplies by another 1.5.

Base upgrades shows your Level, where you are and your next Speed per step before you choose Rebirth now. Keep my Speed goes back without resetting anything.

Balance can still change as we tune actual playtime. A planning simulation is not a promise of how long your own run will take.
