Original game work
The keyboard layouts, course designs, procedural runner, keycap models, interface graphics, sound shaping and synthesized effects are original to Speed Obby. The switch recordings are credited below.
Open-source software
The 3D renderer uses three.js, distributed under the MIT licence. The bundled source retains its licence notice. The game is written in TypeScript and bundled with esbuild.
Typeface
Fredoka is by the Fredoka Project Authors and is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font is hosted locally. Its licence is included with the site’s font assets.
Sounds
Twelve sound presets draw on five recorded families. Crisp uses a WhiteFox keyboard with Hako Violet tactile switches, Silk linear keys, Thock a second set of tactile keys, Snap blue switches and Typewriter a Smith Corona typewriter. Arcade, Jelly, Wood, Glass, Marble, Melody and Laser add our own synthesized layers to those recorded keys.
All source recordings are released under CC0 1.0:
- grcekh: WhiteFox keyboard typing, Hako Violet switches.
- Sadiquecat: Keychron K10 linear typing and spacebar.
- shanecutrufello: linear keypress.
- StavSounds: eight tactile key takes from Mechanical Keyboards.
- UberBosser: Q, W, Ctrl and Space from mechanicalKeys.
- megashroom: Smith Corona Corsair typewriter.
- yottasounds: typewriter single key.
We edit short impact and rebound excerpts, remove rumble, balance levels and shape each preset, keeping each recording's full attack. Preset names describe our sound designs, not keyboard models. The audio licence log records the exact sources, modifications and the earlier unicaegames source used by the previous preview.
Event effects and wind are synthesized from original code. No competitor sounds or licensed background music ship in the game.
The game is independent and is not affiliated with Roblox or another keyboard escape game.
